Morning Walks
On Sunday my husband and I were lucky enough to be child free. Having been out the evening before our son was at a friends for a sleepover and so we headed out early for some breakfast followed by a lovely walk.
The day was clear, crisp and bright as we walked along the Quay in Sandwich.
The river was shining in the sunlight and I immediately spotted a beautiful Cormorant fluttering and stretching its wings in the bank. It was all alone standing on the muddy bank.
We continued along the path amidst the trees following the river as it wound around, this way and that.
It was windy but so quiet as we wandered further from civilisation. It’s such a wonderful feeling to be out in the wild with barely another soul in sight.
The tall reeds swayed in the breeze and I watched the river ripple. It was a peaceful and calm walk that will remain in my mind in the dreary and rainy days to come.
The return walk was just as pleasant and I felt entirely relaxed and fresh, ready for the day ahead by the time we reached the car to go and pick up our son.
