Early Mornings #14
Well it’s 6:34am, and I’ve braved the outdoors to find it spitting once again.
But, it’s not heavy so I’ve put on my coat and decided that I need my Saturday morning fresh air either way. At least until it gets heavier. The wind is up this morning too. A big difference to the calm and sunny day of yesterday but as it’s so early I suppose there is still hope for us. I can hear the wind blustering above me but I’m in the little protected nook of our garden and so I only feel it every so often and certainly not at full force.
The birch trees are looking quite ghostly this morning against the glow coming from the house. (Yes everyone is up this morning).
I keep having to wipe the screen as I type and I’m wondering how long I’ll be able to stay out here this week. Not long I’m guessing.
Now don’t get me wrong the rain does all sorts of good for the plants and gardens but enough already. It feels like we live in a perpetual climate of constant rain at the moment. Every now and then you have a hint that the end of the tunnel is near and just as quickly it gets taken away again.
There are no birds again this morning. Not even a seagull in the distance. A shame as I love to hear them in the early morning. I can’t blame them for still being tucked away though. They are clearly more sensible than I.
I feel like this is going to be quite a short post this week. The rain is getting harder and there is only so long I can sit out at the table whilst it rains without looking completely mad.
It is very meditative to head the pitter patter of rain on my hood though. Actually very relaxing.
I’m glad I decided to brave it even if it was only for 10 minutes. Such a shame as it isn’t a particularly cold morning and I could easily sit out here for much longer if it wasn’t for the rain. Oh well, that’s life.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend and hoping the run up to the big day isn’t too stressful.
